What's the going rate for a World Series title these days?
Apparently, it costs over $200M to buy a World Series title. Don't believe me? Just ask the Yankees. (As a Red Sox fan, nothing is more painful than watching the Yankees win a World Series -- nothing. Except for castration, but other than that -- the Yankees winning it all is the worst thing that can happen.)
Here are a couple of links to blogs I wrote about the evil empire buying winning the title.
I wrote this over at Confessions of a Sox Addict -- it's just a short blog about how much I hope the Yankees' bandwagon jumpers fans* are happy that they finally won.
This article was written at You Gab Sports for my weekly featured article. (Be sure to tune in on Thursdays if you want to read me exclusively at the Gab -- and you can check out the rest of the week too, all the articles are excellent.) This one is a little more adult-oriented and probably not suited for younger readers (in other words, I say the F-word a lot).
If you want a Yankee fan's perspective of the World Series, take a few minutes and go over to Daddy Sports. I'm sure my boy Rad will have plenty to say about the Yankees winning.
That's it for me folks (at least for now). I'm going to crawl back over to my couch and get back to being a slacker. It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it.
*Okay, not all Yankees fans are bandwagon jumpers. There is a small percentage (maybe 2%) of them who have been with the Yankees in good times and bad -- but you have to admit, most Yankees fans are bandwagon jumpers.

Thanks for the the shoutout brother man. It was a great series.
The only thing that hurts me more than wathcing the Sox celebrate titles is the Giants winning Super Bowls.
To be fair, it's not like the Sox sat back and just wathced the Yanks spend money. You guys brought in Victor Martinez, Alex Gonzalez, Billy Wagner, and Adam LaRoche to try to salvage the season. Our moves just worked out this year. I wish it was all about money, we would win every year.
You guys have Lester, Beckett, and a healthy Dice-K next year, should be interesting.
Thanks again potato
But, if you take the combined salaries of V-Mart, Gonzo, Wagner, and LaRoche -- you won't even get what the Yankees paid for one of their big-name players to play this season. That's my point -- it is about the money.
They outplayed the Phillies -- there is no denying that, but their payroll had a lot to do with them being able to get to the playoffs.
Oh, and congratulations. (And yes, it pains me to say that lol.)
The payroll did play a part, your right brother. But like you said, they still had to get on the field and play and they outplayed the Phillies in this series. I know that was hard for you man lol
Thanks again, I read on CNNSI that you guys are pushing hard for Halladay and Adrian Gonzalez this offseason. Money talks and you guys have just as much as the Yanks. We'll see.
you can pay out the ass, but the talent has to perform and stay healthy
that is why yer BoSox and now the Yanks won
big payrolls? ok
but the guys earned it
